Primer Paso and TANF

PRIMER PASO and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), programs are major players in getting Hartford residents off welfare and back to work. Clients participate in programs that offer practical life-skills instruction, English language education, aptitude assessment and job skills training. Through mentors and educators, clients are trained in managing work and family, dressing for success, office skills and computer training as well as training in other areas aimed at ensuring long-term, on the job success.
