The Program for Economic Self-Sufficiency,
PROGRESS, provides vital employment resources and youth development services
for the residents of Hartford.
PROGRESS is a collaboration of
four major Hartford community service agencies: the Connecticut Puerto
Rican Forum, Hartford Areas Rally Together (H.A.R.T.), Southend Community
Services and the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
Formed, in 1996, PROGRESS addresses
urban employment issues and heightens the employability of Hartford residents
through job training support and placement services. In 2000,PROGRESS
provided employment and training services to more than 4,000 Hartford
residents.
Life skills training, employee
recruitment, business-customized training, screening of skills assessment,
occupational training, job placement and retention, post-placement support,
youth development and entrepreneurship are among the employment resources
offered by PROGRESS.
